OUR MISSION
Our mission is to provide a media network that allows people of the LGBTQ Community and its allies to support
each other’s efforts through knowledge, engagement, and a common thread
In a way that:
So that people, LGBTQ and ally, become involved with programs and causes that have a special meaning for them, unite through service and interest, and most importantly, realize their place and right to be included in society.
each other’s efforts through knowledge, engagement, and a common thread
In a way that:
- Builds a community of like-minded individuals that want to have a positive effect on others.
- Provides support and connection to those in various areas including the arts, non-profits, government and others.
- Initiates and contributes to growth of a diverse and inclusive society
So that people, LGBTQ and ally, become involved with programs and causes that have a special meaning for them, unite through service and interest, and most importantly, realize their place and right to be included in society.
OUR VISION
Even before the Stonewall Riots in 1969, the LGBTQ Community has been oppressed, punished, and shunned by society, religions, friends and family members, and for many around the world, orientation and identity continues to be a topic and reality in the present day. It’s time to make a change. It’s time to realize that no matter who someone loves or how they identify every human has something to contribute to society and that we have a connection, whether emotionally, through experience, goals or interests. Every person is both a student and teacher. Through building relationships, we educate each other, form a bond and allow many to recognize that they are not alone.
As decades passed, those of the LGBTQ Community created a safe haven. Working for, communicating with, and associating with others in the Community, we have unfortunately put ourselves into a box without believing that others supported inclusion. For years, opportunities and successes either haven’t been realized or have not been excepted out of fear. However, our first show, the "Drinks with Jess" podcast has destroyed the box, broke down the walls and empowered listeners to know that inclusion exists, and connections are there to be made, gay and straight alike. Empowerment, demonstrating confidence in the ever-changing world and bringing the LGBTQ and allies together has been our base. However, this is only scratching the surface.
We are not just building a community; we are building a family. One that allows people to express themselves without judgement. One that supports living authentically. One that provides care and support for every participant.
After providing a media outlet for four years, with the belief in joining forces to educate others and grow, it is time to expand in order to provide a network that allows people to unite and communicate through common interests. Whether it’s talk radio, entertainment, sports, news and politics, we envision not only strengthening the LGBT community, but providing an outlet that others enjoy and one that encourages connection between shows and listeners alike.
Although the connection people now seek, whether it be accolades, support or a listening ear that understands or has a similar experience, many people seek to be heard or feel inspiration and hope. Currently, it’s found through social media. However, we strive to connect personally through an actual voice. To bring back the times of personal connection and talk, we want to encourage others to also use their voice.
This desire will allow us to also educate others in creating their own shows and to use their voice to express emotions, interests and connections. Since the Reagan times of the 1980’s, arts in education has slowly exited many schools. Forty years later, arts education is rarely utilized. However, the arts provide an outlet for young and old, gay and straight, all religions, and every color, to learn about expressing their thoughts, feelings and emotions proactively which initiates change and fosters in mental well-being. This factor will allow us to initiate the distribution of courses that cover podcast creation, technology, marketing, interviewing and journalism basics among other topics. We also seek to provide programs to schools, institutions and organizations in order to bring passion, emotion and expression into clear focus for those who desire family that support and have or need to feel compassion for themselves and others.
With this idea, the network we build will continue to give back, teaching not only the technology of podcasts but also the art of communication, empathy, and self-esteem. We aim to teach others at any age the delight of connection through similarities, to respect differences, and to understand the many perspectives that people have. This allows personal growth and evolution, which has been our mission since our conception.
