Are you over 30 and have been wanting to start your own podcast? Maybe you've been searching Google and can't seem to find the answers that you're looking for. Well, you've come to the right place! I'm Jess Branas, your podcast pro, and welcome to this blog.
For the past eight years, I've been fortunate to run my own podcast Drinks with Jess but I'm also honored to produce shows for others all over the country. But when I started podcasting it wasn't even an Industry. Needless to say, there was a learning curve. But if you’re old enough to remember using a tape recorder or that horrible sound of the AOL connection, then this channel is for you because I’m fusing together the 2 things I love the most: teaching and podcasting, to bring you all of my tips and tricks in easy-to-follow steps. For those who are visual learners and for some topics (especially editing), it may be easier to head to my YouTube channel where we drop a new video every week.
We all know that technology evolves rapidly so it’s important for you to stay up to date and ahead of the trend. But what makes this different is that we are not only going to talk about how to start a podcast, equipment, software, hosting sites, marketing and monetization, but I’m also going to teach you how to conduct amazing interviews and create those mic drop moments in every episode.
Now podcasting is more than just sitting behind a mic, voicing your opinions, or talking about your hobbies or business. It’s about sharing information and knowledge. It’s about sharing your story to help others and utilizing that platform for others to share theirs. It’s about building a supportive community that is reciprocal between you and your listeners, not growing an audience of fans. And one thing is for sure, podcasting will build a confidence in you that you have never imagined. Now this blog is meant to be interactive, so hit and drop a comment, or better yet, your questions so I can answer as many as possible because that’s what I’m here for.
And if you have a great show idea and are ready to jump in with two feet, then it’s my pleasure to be on this journey with you because I’m ready to hear you behind the mic.
